History & Vision Navalis Institute
Who we are
Navalis Institute trains maritime professionals online. We started from a simple observation: the people who most need further qualification in this industry are the ones who can least attend a classroom. A second officer on a six-month contract cannot enrol in a campus programme. A terminal supervisor working rotating shifts cannot commit to Tuesday evenings for a year.
More than 35 years of teaching and over 5,000 graduates later, we have built the opposite of a campus: programmes that open when you open them, taught by people who have held the certificates they teach, assessed on what you can actually do rather than on attendance. Our main offices are in Valencia, Spain, and we teach students in more than 30 countries.
Navalis operates three institutions, each for its own audience: Navalis University in Spain, for Spanish-language programmes; Navalis Institute UK for the United Kingdom; and Navalis Institute — this site — for the rest of the world, in your own language. None of the three is a university and none awards university degrees: “Navalis University” is the trading name we operate under in Spain.
