    Director's Message

An institutional message – Leadership and Strategic Vision

To our students and to anyone visiting this page: welcome. The maritime industry runs on qualification, and it is organised so that the people who need it most are the ones who can least sit in a classroom. Navalis Institute exists to close that gap, without pretending to be something we are not.

In more than 35 years, over 5,000 professionals have completed a programme with us, and the commitment has not changed. We teach what we have done: our instructors come from ships, terminals and shipping offices, in active or recent practice. We fit the rotation rather than the academic term — self-paced study, no live sessions, a platform open permanently and built to work on a poor connection. And we describe what a programme is, exactly: what you study, how long it takes, how it is assessed and what you receive at the end, stated plainly before you pay.

If that is the training you are looking for, you are in the right place.

    Academic Excellence

Navalis Institute concentrates on one industry and teaches it at three levels:

    • Short courses — 60 to 150 hours. One competence at a time: cargo securing, bunkering, antifouling.
    • Diplomas — 300 to 600 hours. A full professional area: port operations, maritime logistics, marine engineering, offshore safety.
    • Master’s degrees — 600 to 1,500 hours. Management level: shipping business, port management, naval architecture, maritime law and insurance.

    Navalis Institute

    Admissions and Scholarships

Seven areas of study, with enrolment open all year: navigation and deck, marine engineering, ports and terminals, maritime logistics, offshore and energy, shipping business and law, and safety and environment.

Each programme page states its level, its hours, how it is assessed and its price before you enrol. Short courses have no prerequisites. Programmes are added continuously — if what you need is not listed yet, ask us: it may already exist in another language.

Study From Anywhere / Virtual Campus

The virtual campus gives you the whole programme from the day you enrol: modules in order, each closing with an assessment, and the material there whenever you can get to it. There are no live sessions, so a low-bandwidth connection is enough to work through it — on watch rotation, between port calls or on leave.

    Navalis Institute

Navalis Institute is a private provider of online maritime training, with its main offices in Valencia, Spain, and students in more than 30 countries. It is not a university and not a maritime administration: we teach the subject, in your language and at your country’s prices, and we say plainly what each programme is and is not.

    Specialised Maritime Programmes

Our programmes cover the areas the industry runs on: navigation and deck, marine engineering, ports and terminals, logistics, offshore and energy, shipping business and law, safety and environment.

An International Student Body in 30+ Countries

We teach students in more than 30 countries, in their own language and at their own country's prices. Recognition of a qualification is decided by the body doing the recognising — an employer or an administration — not by us.

    Regulation, Technology and the Environment

Our content follows the rules the industry actually works under: MARPOL and antifouling, STCW competences, LNG and dynamic positioning, offshore wind. When a rule changes, the module changes.

    Committed to Your Career

More than a school, we are the industry teaching itself. Advisors read your certificates and your sea time before recommending anything, tutors answer while you study, and if the right answer is a shorter course or a national training centre, that is what you will be told.

    Frequently asked questions

Start by sending the enquiry form on this page or writing to us. Enrolment is open all year, so there is no deadline: an advisor confirms the programme that fits you, and you enrol and pay when you are ready.

Short courses of 60 to 150 hours, diplomas of 300 to 600, and master’s degrees of 600 to 1,500 hours, across seven areas of the maritime industry.

Yes. A Navalis scholarship, payment in instalments, or your employer invoiced directly. Ask us for the figure that applies to you.

Criteria vary by programme and situation, so there is no single list. Tell us the programme and your role and we will quote what you would really pay. Ask before you pay: aid is not applied afterwards.

No. We are a private training provider, with no official or state recognition. Recognition is decided by the employer or administration reading your file, not by us. A certificate of completion issued by Navalis Institute, stating the programme, its hours and the modules covered, signed by the academic management. Its recognition for professional or academic purposes depends on the regulations of each country.

Our main offices are in Valencia, Spain. The teaching is entirely online, and our students are in more than 30 countries.

Use the form on this page or the contact page. Tell us your role, your certificates and what you want to study, and we answer with the programme that fits.

One industry, taught by people who worked in it, in a format built around a rotation instead of a timetable — and a straight answer when what you need is a statutory certificate rather than a course.
